Poland is becoming NATO's front line: Russia's stern warning

Moscow has warned Poland of the consequences of becoming NATO’s front line against Russia. Dmitry Medvedev, Russia’s former president and deputy head of the National Security Council, said today (Thursday) that Polish officials were wreaking havoc on a fabricated version of the country’s history and promoting Russia as an enemy.

He said Poland was becoming NATO’s front line against Russia, a threat to Europe’s security.

Medvedev, a close ally of Russian President Vladimir Putin, said the Polish government was ready to “endanger the normal life of the people and the national economic interests” by pursuing a policy of spreading Russian fear.

Pointing to Poland’s various actions against Russia and Europe’s joint gas project Nord Stream 2, he said that Poland was trying to block all joint European projects with Russia by abusing the Ukraine conflict. At the same time, the country is trying to impose sanctions on Russia, trying to start a Cold War.

Poland is the country bordering Ukraine. Moscow has been accusing Europe and the United States of using the border to send weapons to Ukraine.
